For Members:
Complimentary tickets will be provided for your immediate adult family members (7th grade and up, living at home with you) after we have received your membership dues. These tickets may be picked up at the synagogue office or will be available at the will call table for each service. (See below for information on our High Holy Day family and children’s programs for your younger children). If you wish to have your adult children (not living at home with you) or other relatives join in our service, you will need to purchase separate tickets for each person. The price is $100.00 per ticket. Please contact the Rabbi if there are special circumstances that require a reduction in the ticket price. If you wish to have friends join you for services, the price for their ticket is $225.00. This fee may be applied toward their membership dues if they decide to join the congregation. Please include your total extra tickets on the order form, below.
If you will be out of town for the High Holy Days and wish to attend another synagogue, please let the office know as soon as possible so we can help you in obtaining reciprocal tickets.
Please make sure that your membership dues and your request for extra tickets are received by Tuesday, September 24th. For security reasons, each person must present a ticket for each service.
We warmly invite you to join us for the High Holy Days. Tickets can be purchased at $225 each. This fee may be applied toward your membership dues if you decide to join the congregation. Please request your tickets on the order form, below. These tickets may be picked up at the synagogue office or will be available at the will call table at each service.
Our new congregational prayer book for the High Holy Days is Sanctuary of the Soul. We will be passing them out and recollecting them at each service.
You can honor your family and friends through dedications of these beautiful prayer books on the order form, below.
Each household is asked to contribute Chai ($18.00) toward the ritual costs of the High Holy Days. Please indicate your donation on the appropriate line in the order form, below.
The Jewish custom of Hidur Mitzvah (embellishment) helps to beautify and enrich our High Holy Day services such as flowers, musicians, apples and honey. Please direct your contribution, in any amount, toward the ritual embellishment of your choice on the Hidur Mitzvah Contribution form by Tuesday, September 24th. Please include the total amount on the order
form, below.
Yizkor is a time when we bring to mind all of our loved ones and friends who have died. If you wish to have a name(s) listed in our Yizkor book that you did not submit previously, please fill out that information in the form, below. Please note that there is a separate section for those who have died during the past year. Be sure to print the names clearly to be included in the book. All names must be submitted to the office no later than Tuesday, October 1st .
CHILDREN’S & FAMILY PROGRAMS
While our adult services are not geared for very young children, we do encourage you to bring your pre-school children to the beach on Rosh Hashanah afternoon for our Tashlich Service at 4:00pm (see pg. 2).
If you need to bring your child into the adult service, please remember to bring soft toys and books to keep them busy and to sit near the rear of the sanctuary, near an exit, so you can slip out easily with them should that be necessary.
Grades K - 3rd
For children in Kindergarten through Third Grade, we will offer a Religious School High Holy Days program for Rosh Hashanah Morning, Yom Kippur Morning, and Yom Kippur Afternoon/Yizkor/Neilah. (As part of the program, the children will join the congregation for the conclusion of services on Rosh Hashana morning and at the end of Neilah on Yom Kippur to hear the blowing of the shofar.) We encourage children’s attendance and participation in this program because these activities help give them a sense of belonging to our larger synagogue community. Our Tashlich Service at 4:00 pm on Rosh Hashanah and the K-3 Family Service on Yom Kippur afternoon at 3:00 pm provides an opportunity for you and your children to be together. Please use the form, below, to sign-up for the school programs.
Grades 4th - 6th
In order to help our school children begin to experience some of the majesty of the High Holy Days and to familiarize them with High Holy Day songs and melodies, (Kol Nidre, Aveinu Malkeinu) we strongly encourage you to bring them to worship for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur evening services.
On Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur mornings and Yom Kippur afternoon, we also offer a Religious School High Holy Day Program for 4th - 6th grade students. (As part of the program, the children will join the congregation for the conclusion of services on Rosh Hashana morning and at the end of Neilah on Yom Kippur to hear the blowing of the shofar.)
